A world destination
The visitor’s expectations of this cultural landmark and centre for performing arts are heightened by its original external design, with the letters of a monumental inscription across the entrance forming the innovative windows of the building. The interior design is equally creative.
KCCJ designed, supplied, installed and commissioned four bar areas on different levels of the building, each with separate glass wash and store areas, and a pantry. Whilst on site, we were asked to also provide an ice-cream parlour, which was jointly designed ‘on the spot’ by Leith’s General Manager and KCCJ’s Contracts Manager.
Despite all four bars being affected by a faulty sprinkler system set off shortly before handover, all works and commissioning were completed within the 4-week programme period.
