Wembley Arena
The ultimate music venue
Client:
All Leisure/Compass
Project value:
£763,000
First opened in 1934 as the Empire Pool & Sports Arena to host the 1948 Olympics, a £35 million refurbishment has created the UK’s flagship live music venue, within the Wembley Stadium Complex.
The KCCJ design team were asked to speed up service and increase sales of food and drink, to enable the 12,750 crowd to be served within acceptable time frames. Their solution incorporated the very latest design and technology throughout the many catering outlets ranging from drink and food kiosks, bars and a 200-seat à la carte restaurant.
Initial sales volumes showed an increase of 20% above projected sales.
KCCJ designed, supplied and installed equipment to the following areas:
- Crew catering
- Basement store area including walk-in chiller and freezer rooms
- Laundry room
- Banquet kitchen
- Restaurant Kitchen
- 6 drinks kiosks
- 4 food kiosks
- 3 bars
- 5 beer cellars
Despite the restrictions of working within a building with a listed exterior, the project was delivered on time and within budget.
