Providing good food in an attractive environment will reinforce a positive corporate image, improve staff productivity, and provide a hiring incentive.
And while staff catering may not need to deliver high profit margins, it still needs to be efficient and cost-effective. The dining location will need to cope with several peak times throughout the day without delaying meetings or work.
Office and staff restaurants also need to provide somewhere which has a calm atmosphere to allow employees to both relax before returning to work, and to potentially be a pleasant environment for guests and visitors, including as a meeting venue when required.
