Chertsey High School

Set to open this September, the new Chertsey High School will provide first-class facilities for 900 pupils aged 11-16 years old. Built on the former Runnymede Centre site, the school is being funded by the Department of Education and overseen by The Bourne Education Trust. The school has been carefully designed to inspire creativity and once complete, will comprise of 41 classrooms, as well as a multi-use games area, an external amphitheatre, a dance studio, sports hall, main hall and a dining hall, covering an area of 72,333ft2

Main contractor, Kier was awarded the contract and instructed to build the new Chertsey High School next to the existing site which is now currently being demolished. KCCJ tendered for the commercial kitchen package and was successfully awarded it by Kier. Works have been running over the summer with the kitchen/ servery area completed well in time for the start of the new school year this September.

The project ran extremely smooth with zero issues. KCCJ continue to strive towards cultivating a zero defects mentality on all projects. Big thanks to all suppliers involved for their part played.
